I am a beginner Wix user. I am trying to build a artist member site & provide space for showing a gallery of images of their work. I created a collection (Members) with an Image field for their personal picture, and a Media Gallery field to hold their images.
I'm having problems connecting a media gallery element to a media gallery field. When I try to make the connection, the appropriate field choice is greyed out, as if the editor doesn't recognize the data field as a media gallery type. It's as if the element is seen as an image vs media gallery type.
When I first tested this out, I had no problem making the connection, but somewhere along the way I started having this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Ah hah! Thanks for the quick response. Indeed there was an option in the dropdown. Essentially, the media gallery is a dataset within a dataset. Thanks a bunch!

Thanks for your question. If I'm not mistaken what's happening here is that the lower drop-down is used if you want each item in your collection to populate one image in the gallery. If you would like to connect a media gallery field you will need to use the upper "connect a dataset" drop-down. You should see a subsection of the dataset that says media gallery.
