Can a custom Block be added to a Wix Post

I have a custom Block/app for my site and can see and add it to a Page.

But I cannot see how to add it to a Blog Post.

The idea is build a Block that allows my Collaborator to add them to blog post and take out the need for them to mess about with embed codes that they consistently mess up or forget how to edit them to show new content etc.

Is it actually possible to add a custom Block to a Blog post?.

Hi, The blog page is part of a Wix app so there are some limitations. You can add a Wix Block to the post page of the blog app but it wouldn't display inline with the blog. Depending on what your are trying to achieve you may want to take a look at the other methods of building a Wix app such as self hosted or CLI where you can use REST APIs. Without knowing more about what kind of app you are trying to develop it's a little hard to give guidance.

@Eitan Waxman Thanks for getting back. I am trying to create an easy way for a writer to add an element to a a psot where they themselves do not have to mess about with adding and editing a HtmlComponent. For instance I use a HtmlComponent with an iframe for a MixCloud track player.

For them to do this on a post they would need to add a HtmlComponent, add the iframe and a speficly and unique url query for the src.

I first tried to access the HtmlComponent via velo. Nope

But you cannot target the elements on the Page.

I then looked to see if I could get them just add some url text between brackets and a tag.

So I could use the Post code to convert it to a code constructed element. But you cannot target specific text blocks. Just the plain text of the page ( if I remember right).

Because of that limitation I turned to the I hope a Block would work..

What I was hoping was I could design a block so they only had to edit its URL attribute in its setting/Panel.

Ahh, I get the struggle but I don't think there is a simple solution to this. Depending on your priorities, dynamic pages might be a better choice for what you are trying to set up. Eitan
